HTC Droid DNA is a smart phone which runs on an Android OS (operating system). The device is manufactured by HTC Corporation and it features a really large display. The device features one of the largest displays among all the smart phones and it is also one of the first smart phones that feature a 1080p resolution and also the highest pixel density on the large display. The device is beautifully designed and it also comes with a super fast quad core processor and with the recent update of Android that is the “Jelly Bean”. It has a long battery life and 4G LTE which is surprisingly not found in the Nexus 4.
Hardware
The HTC Droid DNA features a large 5-inch Super LCD 3 display with 16 million colors. The display is bright and as mentioned above it has a 1080p resolution. The screen is crisp and sharp. The device also has a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. On the top of the screen you have an earpiece along with the 2MP camera and a notification light as well. Below the screen there are three capacitive buttons. On the top of the device there lies the headphone jack, power button and the SIM card slot. Below there is a Micro-USB port covered with a rubber flap. On the right hand side of the device there is a long volume rocker. On the back there is an 8MP camera with an LED flash, there is also an additional notification light at the back as well. The HTC Droid DNA has a larger display as compared to the Galaxy s3 but it’s a little thicker and heavier than the Galaxy s3 also. The front facing camera is capable of shooting videos at 1080p.
Software
The HTC Droid DNA runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Sense UI. The 4.1 Jelly Bean is not the latest update for Android smart phones but the device should get an update to 4.2 Jelly Bean, the latest version found in the Nexus 4, soon. Sense is one of the most extensive skins for Android devices right now. Sense not only changes the look of the operating system but also tweaks some of the core functionality. Sense aims on making Android usage a smother experience. Unlocking the device is pretty much the same as with the other HTC smart phones. What you have to do is that you have to move the ring from the bottom to the centre or you can also drag icons to the ring to quick launch any specific phone functions.
Conclusion
The HTC Droid DNA is a big, powerful device loaded with many cool software features and let’s not forgets that the device has killer good looks too. The device does not have a Micro-SD card slot and neither a removable battery. The device does have the densest display available in the market right now. Watching movies and TV shows on the large display is a blast. Gaming will also not disappoint you. The device does cause a little problem while fitting in the tight pockets but with all the great specs offered by the device, this won’t be much of a problem for the fans.
